Abrasive blasting

Abrasive blasting is the method of cleaning surface properties by stream of abrasives under high velocity. for eg. descaling, rust removal, paint removal, homogenous surface.

Stamping press

A stamping press is a metalworking machine tool used to shape or cut metal by deforming it with a die.

Milling

Milling is a specific form of CNC machining. Milling itself is a machining process similar to both drilling and cutting, and able to achieve many of the operations performed by cutting and drilling machines. Like drilling, milling uses a rotating cylindrical cutting tool. However, the cutter in a milling machine is able to move along multiple axes, and can create a variety of shapes, slots and holes. In addition, the work-piece is often moved across the milling tool in different directions, unlike the single axis motion of a drill.



Lathe

Lathe is a computer numerical controlled lathe. It is used for turning round shapes from various metals. It functions by rotationg the workpiece that is fixed ridgedly to the spindle. A tool that is fixed on a movable portion of the lathe (cross slide) is then driven into the workpiece until the sharp edge of the tool removes workpiece material concentrically (or normally) to the axis of rotation of the spindle.

 

Welding

Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding is the most flexible and one of the most widely used arc welding processes. It involves striking an arc between a covered metal electrode and a workpiece. The heat of the arc melts the parent metal and the electrode which mix together to form, on cooling, a continuous solid mass. The central metal electrode or core wire acts as a consumable, providing the filler metal for the weld. MMA welding can be used to join most steels, stainless steels, cast irons and many non-ferrous materials. For many mild and high-strength carbon steels, it is the preferred joining method.

Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, also sometimes called Gas Metal Arc Welding is a process for welding aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. MIG welding is an automatic or semi-automatic process in which a wire connected to a source of direct current acts as an electrode to join two pieces of metal as it is continuously passed through a welding gun. A flow of an inert gas, originally argon, is also passed through the welding gun at the same time as the wire electrode. This inert gas acts as a shield, keeping airborne contaminants away from the weld zone.

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding is frequently referred to as TIG or WIG welding. TIG welding is a commonly used high quality welding process. TIG welding has become a popular choice of welding processes when high quality, precision welding is required.  In TIG welding an arc is formed between a nonconsumable tungsten electrode and the metal being welded. Gas is fed through the torch to shield the electrode and molten weld pool. If filler wire is used, it is added to the weld pool separately.

Flame welding is a process widely used in working sites or repair shops. It is performed with a welding torch and exclusively with an oxy-acetylene or oxy-crylene (available in some countries) flame. Easy to settle, this process is versatile for numerous materials.

Electrostatic powder coating

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as household appliances, aluminium extrusions, drum hardware, and automobile and bicycle parts.

 

 

Hot-dip galvanization

Hot-dip galvanization is a form of galvanization. It is the process of coating iron, steel or aluminium with a layer of zinc by immersing the metal in a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of around 860 °F (460 °C).

 

Tube bending

Tube bending is a term for metal forming processes used to permanently form pipes or tubing.

 

CNC bending

CNC bending is a manufacturing process that is carried out by CNC press brakes (also known as CNC brake presses).  These machines can bend sheet metal work from just a few mm across to sections many metres long on the largest industrial machines.

 

 

Laser cutting

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut materials, and is typically used for industrial manufacturing applications. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high-power laser most commonly through optics. The laser optics and CNC (computer numerical control) are used to direct the material or the laser beam generated. A typical commercial laser for cutting materials would involve a motion control system to follow a CNC or G-code of the pattern to be cut onto the material. The focused laser beam directed at the material, which then either melts, burns, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of gas,leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish.
